My favorite sunset spots

Sunset at U Bein Bridge, the world's oldest and longest teak wood bridge, in Mandalay, Burma
I love sunsets.

Sunsets remind us that no matter how rough your day may be, it will soon be over and tomorrow will be another day, another opportunity to try, to make things right.

Below are some of my favorite sunsets taken from some of my favorite destinations in Asia, North and South America.

A couple enjoying the sunset in Promthep Cape, Phuket, Thailand.

A sunset is love.

If you would ask me what love is, I'll tell you "Love is the magic created when the sun and the see kiss." So finding true love means finding someone not only you can share beautiful sunsets with, but rather finding that person with whom you can create beautiful sunsets together.

Sunsets remind us to forgive.

No matter how painful it was, no matter how cruel the day may be, sunsets remind us that it's just one chapter in our life, a chapter that we should soon close to be able to start a new one.

Sunset on a stop over on the way to the Underground River, Puerto Princesa.

Sunsets remind us never to lose hope.

After a great day, sunsets remind us that everything must come to an end on their proper time. But rather than losing hope, we should remember that every time the sun sets, we give way to another sunrise.

Sunset as seen on top of Mt. Gulugod Baboy, Batangas.

Sunsets remind us that we are unique.

It may be the same sun, the same beach, the same mountain, the same time of the day - but no two sunsets are ever alike. So are we, we are unique and beautiful in our own way.

Sunset over Manhattan, as seen from the Empire State Building, New York.

Sunsets remind us that it is always a matter of perspective.

We may be looking at the same sunset at the same time, but the way we see it may differ depending on where we are looking at it from. So if you don't like the view, consider moving. The view may be spectacular on the other end of the cove.

Sunset over the Temples of Angkor, in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Sunsets remind us to slow down.

We love to be on the move, to enjoy life, but sometimes we have to take things slow and just savor the moment, the way every sunset should be enjoyed.

Sunset in Cusco, Peru - jump off point to Macchu Pichu

And lastly, sunsets remind us that, indeed, some great things in life are free. So enjoy your next sunset.

Sunset and thousands of temples, pagodas and stupas in Bagan, Burma.
How about you? What does a sunset remind you of?

Tara, byahe tayo!
